Happy Birthday Gemma Lynn…

August 31, 2006

Today we celebrate the birth of my little girl. Gemma Lynn, named after two women who are very important in my life, has been an absolute joy. She’s such a happy kid (exhibit A), quite active (exhibit B) and rarely “complains” although she does display a bit of temper and can be willfull (considering her parents, I’d say we got off lightly in that category). I threw in a hew pics from her birthday party last weekend (exhibit C & D) cause she’s just so darn cute! She’s a “daddy’s girl” and generally the first one to greet me at the door and I can’t express how blessed I am to have such a wonderful daughter.

Agile At a Distance…

August 29, 2006

Since we don’t follow agile methodologies here at work (yet!) and we’re not really distributed, I’ve not had a chance to use CardMeeting but I’ve VERY interested to see what others have to say about it. Yeah, I know it’s not as much “fun” as REAL cards that you can do a little dance over, shred, bite, spit on, make into little hats…uh, digressing…anyway check out the sandbox and give your scroll-wheel a little spin – definitely cool. Drop me a card… (pw:alwaysbecoding).

Motivational Posters for Extreme Programmers…

August 24, 2006

Some of them are kind of crappy looking graphically but you certainly get the point (and a chuckle)  — Motivate XP!

Unfuddle Your Development…

August 10, 2006

I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had a chance to try out Buildix yet and then I go and find out that Unfuddle is available. Now I KNOW that I’ll be installing AnkhSVN this weekend just so I can give Subversion a little run around.

JavaScript IDE…

August 9, 2006

I haven’t had a chance to download Aptana and give it a whirl but the screenshots have me all kinds of excited. We’ve been DYING for a solution that can handle JavaScript and this may be the ticket. It’s built on Eclipse so I guess that I’ll be adding it to the list of currently installed IDE’s. 🙂

Programmer Personality Test…

August 8, 2006

I just couldn’t help myself when I saw this quick little test. I guess this means I’m going to have to learn another language…

You are Perl. People have a hard time understanding you, but you are always able to help them with almost all of their problems.
